A rare example of a mid 19th century, pine, Irish food press/cupboard.

 

Wonderful patination to the timber showing knocks and bumps and old repairs.

 

The hinged doors close using original clasps and wedges opening to reveal 2 separate shelved cupboards.

 

The interior is dry and crusty exactly the way it should be.

 

The dry shelved interior shows signs of historical woodworm, no longer active but has been fully treated in any case.

 

Doors are solid and ridged and have some later strengthening brackets as pictured.
