Hedge Chair
SOLD
Irish vernacular at its best.
19th century chair, constructed by a hedge carpenter using any timbers available to hand.
Remnants of original red and black paint.
Legs are later but still have age and would have been replaced due to wear or damage, probably a result of use on a damp or dirt cottage floor.
Bodger tinplate repair to one rear spindle and some signs of historic woodworm as you would expect.
Every bit of this chair has a story to tell.
